Market magic Growing popularity sees event welcome fresh produce

A MARKET in a county village which was launched in a bid to help local businesses sell their wares is thriving since it opened six years ago.
With the market growing in popularity, more stalls are being added to the line up each month, with fresh produce sellers announced to start trading from the market next month.
The market is located at The Rest in King’s Stanley, near Stroud and is on every first and third Sunday of the month. Its a hive of activity and has a nearby cafe for customers to take a break after their shopping.
Market manager, Tess Wheeler, 55, from Kings Stanley, said: “The market started off about six years ago. It used to run outside the Kings Head in Kings Stanley, however when the Kings Head closed we needed a new venue.
