BBC boss tells Edwards: 'Just give money back'

HUW Edwards has been publicly asked to hand back part of his BBC salary from the five months he was under arrest.

BBC chairman Samir Shah confessed they had repeatedly asked him to hand back more than £200,000 and called for the disgraced star to “give it back”.

Bridgend-born Edwards made more than £200,000 after his arrest on three counts of making indecent images of children.

In August last year, the corporation announced it had asked him to return the money, but that has not yet happened.

The BBC's annual report for the period in question, April 2023 to April 2024, states that Edwards received a salary of between £475,000 and £479,999.
