George school choirs show progress at eisteddfod

Three schools from George showed off their talent at the district elimination round in the annual South African Schools Choral Music Eisteddfod at Gerrit du Plessis Secondary School in Riversdale last week, bringing home numerous trophies.

Tabatha Primary School

The school entered the challenge with multiple choirs in various categories. According to the senior choir conductor, Nontsikelelo Morgan, the Grade One/ Two choir gave an excellent performance in both categories they entered. The Grade Three/Four choir achieved third place in the Western category with The Last Rose of Summer, while the Grade Five/Seven choir came in third place with their isiZulu piece (Khuzani) and first place with their English piece (The Dam Busters).
