Karnataka Government Mandates Aadhaar Authentication for Dialysis Services

The Karnataka state government has issued a directive making Aadhaar authentication mandatory to avail dialysis services in all government hospitals across the state.

This move comes as the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Dialysis Karyakram (PMRDK) scheme is being implemented through the Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust. Since Aadhaar numbers are required for any Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under this scheme, individuals wishing to benefit from dialysis services will now need to undergo Aadhaar authentication. The state government has, however, made it clear that no individual, whether adult or child, should be denied treatment solely due to the lack of an Aadhaar card.
