MP coached in overdose awareness

Frome and East Somerset MP Anna Sabine took part in a training session on overdose awareness and how to administer the lifesaving drug naloxone.

The session was part of her visit to social enterprise Turning Point's Bath & North East Somerset Drug and Alcohol Service.
Naloxone is a lifesaving medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and is available from drug treatment providers and some pharmacies.
Ms Sabine, the MP for Frome and East Somerset, learnt how to administer naloxone alongside a peer mentor and service user at the Midsomer Norton Drug and Alcohol Treatment Hub.
She also met with people currently being supported by the service.
To help reduce drug-related deaths, the service has a free naloxone Click and Deliver programme and provides training to anyone who would like to carry a kit.
