Frome Community Bike Project has made an “astonishing” donation to a campaign that seeks to extend the local cycle path network.
-
The news of the £8,500 funding was made at Frome’s Missing Links campaign annual meeting.
A spokesperson for Frome Community Bike Project said: “Our aim has always been to donate our profits to Frome’s Missing Links, and help support the extension of traffic free routes around Frome.
“This financial year we donated £1,500 to their Crowdfunder campaign and a further £7,000 in April.”
Ruth Knagg, a Missing Links trustee, said “Our trustee group were astonished to be told how much the Bike Project were donating.
“We thought that they would only be able to cover their own operating costs for a good few years before they would be in a position to donate profits.
