• Kanwar Lal becomes second MLA in ten years to lose membership • Earlier, BSP MLA B L Kushwah was disqualified
Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani has terminated the membership of Kanwar Lal, the MLA from Anta, effective from the date of his conviction.
Previously, in 2016, BSP MLA BL Kushwah had also lost his membership after being convicted in a murder case. Both decisions are similar in that the legislators’ membership ended on the very day the court found them guilty and pronounced their sentence. Moreover, the same procedure was followed in both cases to terminate their membership.
