PUNJAB KINGS AND THE STORY OF IPL 2025 SO FAR

There's a peculiar beauty in persistence. It doesn't dazzle like flair, doesn't make headlines like controversy. It keeps showing up, steadily, until the day it finally turns into triumph. For fans of Punjab Kings, that day may perhaps be inching closer. For over 17 seasons, the franchise has carried the tag of underachievers. Often blessed with talent but cursed with inconsistency, they've seen heartbreaks, false dawns, and seasons that fizzled out after early promise. But something feels different in IPL 2025. Two matches in, and Punjab Kings are not just winning - they're dominating.

Led by the calm and tactical Shreyas Iyer, with a bowling attack spearheaded by the ever-impressive Arshdeep Singh and the guile of Yuzvendra Chahal, Punjab have found a rhythm. The batting, too, looks balanced, with English sensation Harry Brook providing the fireworks in the middle overs and Jitesh Sharma showing maturity beyond his years. Then there is a 23-year-old batter whose name wasn't trending during the auctions, but who is now on every fantasy league shortlist. When Punjab Kings chose to retain Prabhsimran Singh, critics scoffed. Why hold on to a player with such inconsistent returns? But the young opener answered not with words, but with a bat that roared louder than any critic.
