I had introduced a technique by which the moisture in the rainy season could be trapped in seeds for germination and future growth of the saplings, thereby obliterating the need for water in later years, as we are a rain-starved area. I planted them in September and then for the next ten years, I spent studying and exploring ways to replenish arid regions with greenery, including the most suitable seeds and saplings that could survive the region-specific climatic conditions. During this time, a small article on my work found its way in some newspaper of Gujarat and eventually it reached Modi ji, who was then Gujarat CM. He saw in my work a plan for transformation.
