Mitigating Climate Change Need of hour for Sustainable Future
Climate Change and its effects are a growing global concern impacting human health, the environment and the economy and are a major challenge being faced by every living being on this earth today.
In fact it will be the most impactful risk even greater than water crisis and weapons of mass destruction in coming times. Climatic Change manifests itself in innumerable ways, in the form of scorching and blistering heat, raging storms and deadly floods. The increased temperatures, extreme weather conditions, rising sea levels all are causing significant harm. These changes can lead to food and water shortages, increased disease and economic disruptions.
Indeed, Climate Change is a harsh reality today. In one of its recent report the Intergovernmental Panel on Climatic Change (IPCC), the foremost international scientific body for the assessment of climate change, stated that warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia. The atmosphere and ocean have warmed, the amounts of snow and ice have diminished, and sea level has risen. The last decades have been hotter than any previous decade in at least the past 1300 years. Analyses indicate that every year had been more hotter year than the preceding year on record.
How is climate change measured over time
