A truck driver from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, has allegedly defrauded a Delhi-based transport company of scrap metal worth Rs 1.25 crore, highlighting growing concerns about driver verification in India’s transport sector amid an acute shortage of skilled drivers.
Rahul Khan, employed by Jai Gujarat Transport Private Limited, absconded with truck RJ 52 GA 6508 loaded with scrap metal on May 13, 2025. According to company officials, Khan allegedly sold the material midway during the Delhi-Gujarat route and abandoned the empty vehicle near the Rajasthan-Gujarat border before disappearing.
