Kathak isn’t just about tradition—it’s a way for today's youth to express who they are.

A DECADE OF RHYTHM & GRACE

Through every footwork and gesture, their stories come alive in rhythm and grace stated Rashmi Uppal, Founder of Nityam. Ten years ago, when Rashmi Uppal planted the seeds of Nityam - Rashmi Uppal Centre for Performing Arts in the cultural heart of Jaipur, it was more than the birth of an institution. It was a deeply personal journey—one that blended tradition with transformation, and discipline with devotion. As Nityam celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, it stands not just as a Kathak institute, but as a movement that has touched hearts, shaped identities and inspired a generation to dance to the rhythm of their roots.

What started as a modest initiative has grown into a thriving creative space with two vibrant studios, welcoming students from across Indian cities and even from abroad. At the centre of it all is Rashmi herself—an artist, a mentor, and a storyteller—whose love for Kathak runs deeper than a profession.

THE MEANING BEHIND THE MOVEMENT

The word 'Nityam' translates to eternal or continuous—and this sense of perpetuity mirrors Sufi poet Amir Khusrau.
