A DEEP DIVE INTO THE CARMAKER'S FOUR CONCEPTS, AND PLATFORM
ON AUGUST 15, Mahindra & Mahindra showcased four concept SUVs—Vision.T, Vision.S, Vision.SXT, and Vision.X—each aimed at different customer segments and built on the all-new NU-IQ multi-energy platform.
These four vehicles differ from the previous concept reveals in Hyderabad (in February 2023) and in Cape Town (in August 2023) in many ways:
Fuel-agnostic platform
The biggest change is the NU-IQ modular multi-energy platform. Unlike previous showcases, NU-IQ will support petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains, across body styles.
The Hyderabad and Cape Town concepts were mostly based on the INGLO platform (Indian at heart, Global in reach), and focused on electric-origin SUVs, not on petrol, diesel, or hybrid.
The automaker is now focusing on fuel-agnostic vehicles, instead of pure electric.

‘Art allows us to exercise a sense of responsibility’
Named the most influential artist in the world, Ghana’s Ibrahim Mahama felt at home in Fort Kochi, Kerala’s heritage town with a history of centuries of colonisation like his own country in West Africa. A participating artist at this year’s Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Mahama collected discarded chairs and jute sacks and repaired them for his installation, Parliament of Ghosts. Mahama speaks with Faizal Khan about the need for a Global South solidarity to navigate socio-economic and political crises confronting the world and his own art practice that puts people at the centre. Edited excerpts from an interview:
