Hindalco tops Street view in Q1; profit jumps 30%

HINDALCO INDUSTRIES ON Tuesday reported a 30% jump in net profit in June quarter at ₹4,004 crore compared to ₹3,074 crore in Q1FY25, beating Bloomberg estimate of ₹3,806 crore.
The aluminium and copper major's revenue from operations jumped to ₹64,232 crore in Q1, up 12.7% from ₹57,013 crore in the same quarter last year.
The company's revenue from operations was also ahead of Street estimate of ₹59,807 crore.
Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter was ₹8,673 crore, beating Bloomberg estimate of ₹7,836 crore, and up 9% from ₹7,992 crore in Q1FY25, benefiting from lower input coal costs during the quarter.
The company's leadership attributed its financial performance to its integrated business model which includes downstream and upstream functions.
