Honda 2-wheeler forays into EV; dedicated unit at Karnataka plant

MARKING ITS FORAY into the two-wheeler electric vehicle space, major Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) on Wednesday said it will establish a specialised manufacturing facility for this purpose, at its Narsapura plant in Karnataka.
This facility - Factory-E - will exclusively focus on the production of electric vehicles, HMSI's MD & CEO Atsushi Ogata said while unveiling the company's EV roadmap.
According to Ogata, the factory has been designed to optimise production with high efficiency and maximum production value.
Besides, the advanced automated facility will ramp up production in a stage wise manner to produce 1 million EV units by 2030.
