US unlikely to change tariff stance based on SC ruling: USTR

A HOST OF tariffs under Section 232 tariffs on pharma, trucks and movies announced by the US in just the last fortnight could be in preparation for an adverse Supreme Court order, as US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said that Washington will continue to impose tariffs on its trade partners even if the court rules against the administration.

This assumes significance for India as it is in the middle of trade deal negotiations with the US, and the Trump administration is using 50% reciprocal tariffs as leverage.
