Morgan Stanley Cuts Year-End Sensex Target by 12% to 82K

MORGAN STANLEY ON Tuesday lowered its December target for the Sensex by 12% to 82,000 points from 93,000 points, while also cutting its GDP and earnings estimates for India.
If crude oil prices were to surge past $100 a barrel, the RBI ends up tightening to protect macro stability, global growth slows meaningfully, and the US slips into recession.
The global investment advisory firm sees the Sensex hit the 63,000 mark (bear-case scenario), to which it attaches a 20% probability.
