PLANS TO OUTPACE SYSTEM CREDIT GROWTH IN FY27

HDFC BANK DELIVERED a steady Q1FY26, with core pre-provision operating profit (PPoP) at ₹25,620 crore, up 8.3% y-o-y and 1% above estimates, led by slightly better-than-expected net interest income (NII) and fee income. Other income was boosted by ₹980 crore in treasury gains and ₹9,180 crore from a subsidiary stake sale. The bank made floating provisions of ₹9,000 crore and contingent provisions of ₹1,700 crore during the quarter. Adjusted credit cost stood at 57 bps (vs. 53 bps estimated).
