Hindalco beats estimates, profit up 60% at ₹3,735cr

HINDALCO INDUSTRIES ON Thursday posted a 60% year-on-year rise in its net profit in the October-December quarter at ₹3,735 crore, beating the Bloomberg consensus estimate of ₹3,372 crore.
The aluminium and copper major recorded a revenue of ₹58,390 crore, up 11% and ahead of the estimated ₹55,632 crore.
Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebitda) stood at ₹8,108 crore, up 28% and above the estimate of ₹7,390 crore. Total income for the quarter rose to ₹58,899 crore from ₹53,088 crore a year ago, while expenses increased to ₹53,563 crore from ₹49,761 crore.
