Govt plans cap on tenure of outside consultants

THE GOVERNMENT IS working on a new policy that seeks to cap the number and tenure of consultants engaged by ministries and departments, and also standardise their remuneration and approval process, it has been learnt.

The ministry of finance is likely to steer the formulation of the policy, though other ministries may also be roped in, government officials said.
