Don't panic, bank's financials strong: IndusInd promoter

AS THE FALLOUT of multi-crore accounting discrepancies wiped out more than a quarter of IndusInd Bank's market capitalisation on Tuesday, promoter Ashok Hinduja appealed to shareholders "not to panic".
He said these were "routine problems" and that the lender's financials remained very strong.
As IndusInd Bank attempted to deal with the crisis, Hinduja, in an interview with CNBC-TV18, said, "The (bank's) operating profit for the past nine months is over ₹11,000 crore. The hit of ₹1,600 crore is not significant. These are derivative-related technical difficulties as we understand. They (the board and the management) will be able to manage it."
