Disbursal of PLI funds sees marginal uptick

Only ₹9,721 cr disbursed in first 2 years of scheme
The government has released ₹2,746 crore to the beneficiaries under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme so far in the current financial year, taking the overall payout since its inception of the scheme to ₹21,534 crore. This represents a marginal rise in the pace of PLI funds' release. In FY25, the disbursement was ₹9,067 crore.
Till the end of the last financial year, the disbursements under the ₹1.97-lakh-crore scheme stood at ₹18,788 crore. In the first two years of the scheme, only ₹9,721 crore was disbursed—₹2,968 crore in 2022-23 and ₹6,753 crore in 2023-24.
In the review meeting of the scheme, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal stressed on preparing a roadmap for the next five years both on investment and disbursement.
