THE PROMISE WAS quietly removed, almost overnight. App descriptions changed, marketing lines were edited, and “10-minute delivery” slipped out of sight.

But for delivery workers navigating traffic, nothing else has slowed down. Orders still arrive in rapid succession, incentives still hinge on speed, and penalties still follow those who pause, reject or fall behind.
