£1.4m government cash boost for jobs training for adults

MORE adults across Devon are set to gain vital skills and qualifications thanks to a £1.4 million funding boost from the Department for Education.
Devon County Council has confirmed plans to commission additional adult learning provision from external providers starting in August, after its cabinet approved the move on Wednesday, June 25.
The funding, which includes Torbay, will be managed through the council’s adult education service, Learn Devon, which already supports around 6,000 learners aged 19 and over each year through the Adult Skills Fund.
The expanded programme will be delivered in more locations, cover a wider range of qualification areas and begin without delay.
