There is a lot of social pressure, either to attend social events with friends or colleagues or to give suitable gifts.

The pressure to make Christmas a special time for children is a particular source of stress for many and the cost of this is one of the main reasons.

I have now been the council leader for over a year and my main motivation is to lift as many people as possible out of poverty.
