MARC MCLEAN

A Lochmaben farmer is appealing against a planning decision that is blocking him and his wife from moving into a log cabin on their land.

Mr and Mrs G Wright, who own Innerfield Farm, had intended on vacating their farmhouse and setting up home in the wooden structure permanently.

This was to allow their son to take over the running of the farm as part of a retirement succession arrangement.

The prefabricated timber log cabin - referred to as a 'mobile log home - in Dumfries and Galloway Council papers would be installed on agricultural land a short walk from the farmhouse.

The Wright family also sought permission for the formation of an access point and parking area, along with the installation of a septic tank and soakaway system.
