Refurbishment and a new name for food redistributor

SURPLUS food redistributor Company Shop Group has reopened its Long Eaton store following a full refurbishment, under a new name, 'The Surplus Supermarket.'

Since first opening in 2020, Company Shop Long Eaton has saved 13,111 tonnes of perfectly good surplus food and household products from going to waste, redirected the equivalent of 31 million meals from landfill to local tables, and saved eligible members of the community over £32 million on their shopping.

Eligible members include NHS workers, emergency responders, prison service staff, registered charities, and those in receipt of means-tested benefits.
