TWINE'S FIRST-HALF STRIKE LOOKED SET TO GIVE ROBINS AWAY VICTORY

CARLTON Morris rescued a point for Derby County against Bristol City at Pride Park Stadium last night.

Scott Twine's 35th-minute strike looked as though it would be enough to claim the win for the Robins in the Championship clash.

But in the 86th minute Morris made it three goals in three Championship games after joining the Rams in the summer.

Joe Ward ran in at the far post to meet a looping cross and planted a firm header back across goal which was superbly saved by Robins keeper Radek Vitek.

However, Morris pounced on the loose ball to score from a tight angle and the points were shared in a 1-1 draw.

Summer signing Andreas Weimann faced one of his former clubs as he replaced Kayden Jackson in the Rams' starting lineup.

Another Rams addition in the close season, striker Rhian Brewster, was on the bench.

The Rams made a bright start and Callum Elder latched onto a clearance before seeing his long-range strike from the left deflected behind for a corner.

And the flag kick reached Rams midfielder Ebou Adams inside the penalty area but he couldn't get a shot away.

Weimann appealed for a penalty when a left-wing cross fell to him and his strike cannoned off Rob Dickie but referee David Webb waved play on.
