Me & Dee are the first 'unsung heroes' to benefit from leisure facilities

A NEW scheme offering unsung heroes support from local leisure facilities in Derby has announced its successful applicant.

Everyone Active, which runs Moorways Sports Village in partnership with Derby City Council, launched Community Champions to support projects which are tackling local issues and changing lives.

People involved in mentoring, promoting health and wellbeing, supporting inclusivity or leading environmental or cultural projects were encouraged to apply.

The successful applicant was the charity Me & Dee, who provide support to families facing short and uncertain futures where there has been a life-limiting or terminal diagnosis.
