LABOUR CHIEF BLASTS REMARK 'REALLY UNFAIR' AS REVAMPED LISTED BUILDING PREPARES TO HOST A BUSY PERIOD OF EVENTS THIS WINTER
Derby City Council leader Nadine Peatfield at the new city Market Hall
DERBY City Council leader Nadine Peatfield has strongly refuted a claim the new Market Hall is “not fit for the 21st century”.
The Labour administration leader blasted the remark as “really unfair” and called the potential of the revamped Grade II Listed building as “absolutely massive” - as it prepares to host a busy period of events this coming winter.
Her comments came in response to a direct question by Liberal Democrat councillor Lucy Care, who asked the leader if a ‘Plan B’ was in consideration at the £35million revamped city centre building.
