Viral 'church robbers' innie hof

THE skelm seen in a viral video robbing a Samora Machel church at gunpoint will remain behind bars for nog ‘n week after making his first appearance in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Yanga Ngayi, who was represented by Legal Aid, is one of five suspects arrested in connection with the robbery at AFM Jericho City of Praise Church on Sunday, 7 June.

Congregants were robbed of cellphones and personal possessions, while the church’s sound system was also ge-ses.

The court heard that Ngayi made a church member help carry items outside, where others were waiting.
