'THEY CAME FOR MY HUSBAND'

AMBUSH: Bakkie with bullet holes and blood splatter

A DELFT family are lucky to be alive after their friend was shot while seated in their bakkie with their children inside the vehicle.

In what is believed to have been an attempt on her husband’s life, the traumatised mother explained that the couple went out for the day to celebrate her birthday on Tuesday and had arranged for their pal to take their bakkie to bring the kids home in the evening.

When they arrived home to meet the friend, a grey BMW pulled up and opened fire on the driver's side of the bakkie, with their four children and the bra’s two laai-ties in the vehicle.

The mother explained: “My husband and I left with my car and the bakkie was at home.
