Cops and the SANDF to launch a 'scanning' operation in gang hotspots ahead of deployment
POLICE say they and the SANDF have been engaging in an "operational scanning exercise" in the Cape Flats' gang-infested hotspots this week.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa said preparations are well underway for the army's deployment alongside cops in the fight against gun violence and organised crime.
A select contingent of SAPS officials with SANDF members hit various hotspot areas on Wednesday and Thursday as essential preparation ahead of the actual deployment.
