Community worker Veale and her team dala what they must to feed 1000s on the Kaapse flats daily

- MARSHA DEAN

MIRACLE WORKER

"IF YOU'RE not part of the solution, you're part of the problem." These are the words community activist Gloria Veale lives by to ensure change is brought through her philanthropy work in the lives of the most vulnerable on the Cape Flats.

Gloria, 55, has been at the heart of communities for over 30 years and is the visionary for Aba's Restoration House Ministry which consists of three pillars, namely the feeding stations called Dala Wat Jy Moet, a peace initiative called Balls Not Guns and a platform dedicated to the healing of women on the Cape Flats called Women's Revival Movement.

Her community work started at the tender age of 14 years in Mitchells Plain, where she started as an anti-apartheid activist.
