Heideveld ou pays for animal abuse

A HEIDEVELD oupa has been convicted by the Athlone Magistrates Court of animal cruelty for failing to adhere to warnings issued by the Cape of Good Hope SPCA about the living conditions of his dogs.

In a statement, the animal welfare organisation said David Jonathan Carelse, 62, pleaded guilty to charges brought against him in terms of the Animals Protection Act after multiple inspections revealed his continued failure to provide for the welfare of his dogs.
