THE Gauteng department of transport says preliminary reports into the Vanderbijlpark scholar transport crash, in which 13 learners died, suggest that the driver was not licensed to operate the vehicle.
The learners from different primary and secondary schools were travelling in a Toyota Quantum on Monday morning.
According to reports, the 22-year-old driver was trying to overtake four vehicles on the morning school run on Gauteng's R553 when the vehicle collided with a truck.
