Son killed sorting out last-minute surprise for his mother's 47th birthday celebrations

A HEIDEVELD mom had a bitter birthday on Sunday after her son called to tell her about his plans for her day, however 15 minutes later she received the news that he had been brutally murdered.
Carol Fisher told the Daily Voice that her son Carlyle, known as "Tan", had surprised her with a pair of tekkies on 20 September, a day before her 47th birthday.
The mom said: "I was sitting in the house and I just spoke to him like 15 minutes before I heard what happened.
"We still spoke about the plans he had for me. He was planning to make a potjie and to make it a beautiful day for me.
