WOMAN TURNED UP ON DOORSTEP

MADELEINE McCann’s dad told a court that a woman's false claim to be his missing daughter was “pretty horrible”.

Gerry McCann said Julia Wandelt’s claim during a doorstep confrontation left his wife Kate “upset” and “frightened”.

He said it was “damaging the search” for Madeleine, aged three, who vanished on holiday in Portugal in 2007.

Gerry said: “We don't know what happened to Madeleine.
