Craig's roller-coaster ride

- BY TOM COLEMAN

CRAIG BELLAMY is on the verge of another football high this week - but he will not forget the lows of his journey.

Tomorrow evening, in his home city of Cardiff, Bellamy's Wales take on Bosnia & Herzegovina in the World Cup playoff semifinals. Win and they will be through to a final - again in Cardiff - on Tuesday against Italy or Northern Ireland.

Next stop after that, the World Cup finals for only the third time.

But it's been a tough road for Bellamy, head coach since July 2024, who has opened up on his struggles to settle at Norwich as a youngster, which he says was the most difficult chapter of his often-colourful career.

Appearing in a revealing behind-the-scenes documentary for S4C, 'Byd y Bel a mi' - translated as 'Craig Bellamy: My Football World' - the Wales boss has cast his mind back on a playing career that often made as many headlines off the pitch as on it.
