THE seven-year-old girl killed by a falling tree was on a family trip, it is believed.

A six-year-old girl is also fighting for her life after part of the tree fell in a busy park.

Police said investigations were continuing after the incident on Saturday afternoon.

Locals said the old cedar tree had been propped up by metal supports for at least a decade.
