Rovers prop Whitbread relishes Wakefield return

JAI WHITBREAD is delighted to see former club Wakefield back in the big time – but there is no room for sentiment tomorrow.
The powerful Hull KR prop makes his first return to Trinity since leaving them for Rovers following their relegation at the end of 2023.
Wakefield were in dire straits then but multi-millionaire Matt Ellis took over and breathed new life into them.
They surged to Championship glory last season and, with plush new facilities at Belle Vue, comfortably racked up enough IMG points to secure their place in Super League.
Trinity marked their return with a fine 14-12 opening win at derby rivals Leeds on Saturday and next comes their long-awaited first home outing.
