RADUCANU'S HOUR HERO

RUTHLESS Emma Raducanu raced into the US Open third round by recording her fastest Grand Slam win for the second time this week.

"I was on full alert playing today. Yeah, I'm just very pleased with that performance.

Like in the opening round win over Japan's Ena Shibahara, Raducanu started at 11am local time in the Louis Armstrong Stadium with an ace. She sent down eight in all, made 79 per cent of first serves and saved all three break points against her. “I thought that I served very well and I put quite a few aces on the board today,” added the British No.1.

“It always helps me when I'm serving well. It just kind of seeps into the rest of my game.”
