Sky's the limit for Lone'er after stunning Moreno

LONE'ER KAVANAGH may have entered Mexico City as 'the man with no name' - but he is now widely recognised as a red-hot contender for the flyweight crown after his stunning win over Brandon Moreno.

Having predicted exclusively in Saturday's Starsport that it was going to be “a good old-fashioned shoot-off”, the Londoner simply overwhelmed Moreno with his arsenal of offence, leaving the Mexican’s lead leg black and blue and his face a bloody mess.

Before his main-event clash, which he took at short notice, Kavanagh sat just outside the 125lb rankings but he will now be a prominent face inside the top 10 after upsetting two-time champion and No.6-ranked Moreno in his own backyard.
