Mad goals make it super six for Mikel

NONI MADUEKE helped Arsenal maintain their perfect Champions League record to all-but secure progression through to the last-16.

For the fifth time this season, the Gunners responded to defeat or draw in their previous fixture with a victory, and it was important to do so after the agonising late goal at Aston Villa.

With such an emphasis on injuries in the pre-match press conference, being able to rotate against a side that has caused problems for the likes of Barcelona this season and still win is a welcome sight for Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal now sit on 18 points in the league phase after six wins in a row - with 16 points having been enough to progress last season.

Martin Odegaard had the first chance of the game, firing a shot from outside the box, stinging the gloves of Club Brugge goalkeeper Dani van den Heuvel, a late addition after former Liverpool No.1 Simon Mignolet was injured in the warm-up.
