SIR Elton John chats with his showbiz pals online so he can zoom in and see them now that he's half blind, he has revealed.

The 78-year-old megastar lost the sight in his right eye last year and his left is "not so good". But he is optimistic that "some day science will help me with this one".

Sir Elton said: "It's been devastating. The last 15 months have been challenging because I haven't been able to see anything, watch anything, read anything.

"You just have to grin and bear it. It does get me down sometimes. I've had the most incredible life and there is hope.

"I've just got to be patient."
