ROCKER'S EPIC TUNE 'SAT ON SHELF FOR 8 YEARS..'

CHRIS Rea said he was banned from the roads when he penned his 1986 tune Driving Home For Christmas.

The 74-year-old rocker revealed he had no idea it would be such a festive favourite - and it sat “on the shelf for eight years”.

He said: “It’s got a story everyone can relate to: You're stuck in traffic, when all you want to do is to get home and be with your loved ones.
