Aussie ace roars back to best for Nunthorpe win
-
HENRY DWYER jumped for joy as Aussie ace Asfoora ran away with the Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes.
The trainer kept the faith in his mare, favourite last year but allowed to start at 11-1 after being ignored by most punters. Back on a decent playing surface, Asfoora showed she was worthy of the highest rating by making it look easy under Oisin Murphy.
The four-time champion jockey took a trail from speedball Night Raider and nursed blinkered Asfoora into contention.
Inside the final furlong the turbo really kicked in and she sprinted clear of 100-1 outsider Ain't Nobody, with Frost At Dawn (10-1) in third.
