Five-year deal on De table

Relegation-threatened Spurs sent an SOS to the former Brighton manager in a desperate attempt to beat the drop.

They were locked in advanced negotiations with De Zerbi yesterday after offering him a mega deal to join them immediately rather than wait until the summer.

It is believed they have got as far as discussing the finer details of the Italian's backroom staff as he is renowned for having a big team behind him.
