Lottery scratchcard couple use winnings to care for children

A LUCKY couple who won £1million on a scratchcard have told of the dramatic moment their lives changed for ever.

Darren and Kate Donaghey bought their dream home in Gosforth, Newcastle, with the National Lottery jackpot in 2018.

They also helped family members, then dedicated their lives to their teenage son, and daughter, 10, who both have severe autism.

Darren, who previously won a “punching above your weight” contest thanks to the beauty of Kate, was described as being the “luckiest man in the world”.
