BRITAIN is crawling with an invasion of cockroaches owing to the perfect storm of a wet but mild winter and spring.

Pest experts are braced for record numbers – and an infestation could set you back up to £260 to clear.

Oriental and German cockroaches – the two varieties most commonly found in the UK – don’t bite but do spread illness and pose a health threat.
